Ok, back from Vegas. I had the best vacation I have ever had (with the obvious exception of the trip to England... but the two trips differ so much, one cannot really compare them)... I can't describe the Vegas vibe. Everyone should do the trip- at least once. Woo! Dave and I came back with more than we went with... how many people can say that?

Yesterday, during one of the countless broadcasts of the memorials, I heard something that sums up what I've been feeling. I will paraphrase: We are finally able to experience September 12th. We've been living September 11th everyday throughout the past year, and now we are finally able to move through to September 12th. I wish I remembered who said that so I could give credit. Welcome to September 12th, everyone.

I wanted to reflect on what I was thinking a year ago and so I looked back at my blogs. The one dated closest to 9.11.01 was 9.14.01. I posted this link. It is still there and still just as poignant. I also wanted to repost the lyrics below. It is a day of remembrance all around.

And just as I predicted, the winner is... Kelly Clarkson. Yea Kelly. I'm not a fan, but I'm happy for you. Yea for Justin too, who showed true class when he congratulated Kelly on her win. His single, apparently, will be out next month. I'll be first on line for that one. I'm at a loss for what to do now that my summer obsession has ended. I know, so many more problems in the world to worry about then the fact that American Idol has ended, but still.... It's like Survivor all over again. The first one was so riveting and I hated to see it end. I know a new one is coming, but it won't be the same. It'll be cheesier and crappier and yuckier... ho hum. *sigh*

I've waited all summer...now I'm finally going to see who my American Idol is... will it be Justin or Kelly? Who do I want to win? Justin. My prediction on who wins tonight? Kelly. *sigh* *shrug* I will still buy Justin's CD.
