Well, I just heard from a friend and his fiancee- they just closed on their house. That brings the total to 2: I know 2 sets of friends who now own houses. Scary... not to mention that both are engaged... What a responsibility... and (as one of these friends pointed out): you don't think of the things that one must buy after aquiring a house... like garden hoses, lawn mowers, etc...

So, this weekend passed without much ado... slept until 4p on Saturday. I've been sick, and I suppose I needed the sleep. I didn't do anything but lay around on the couch and watch tv. On Sunday, Dave and I went to Albany to visit a friend. We found the elusive Crossgates Mall (long story behind that)... and we returned home about 9:30ish. Monday found me trying to do laundry and replacing the light bulb (light rod?) in the bathroom. I also broke the oven... yikes. Hopefully we'll be able to fix that up before we leave for Clam Fest. This will be my 14th Clam Fest (I missed one). Kicked off by the annual Parade (which I have been in more than once... and in which my sister masqueraded as "Miss Clam"- dressed in an old prom dress with requisite tiara, sitting in the back of a friend's convertible), it is three days of carnival rides, cotton candy, and any food under the sun (especially clams... which I don't eat). This year Dave's family will be joining mine- it will be a blast!

I have just spent the entire day reading the American Idol recaps on Television Without Pity! Insanely funny- especially when the show sucks as much as it does (although, I'll admit it, I'm hooked!). Three day weekend coming up- which is great. And a 2 day work week next week, before I'm off to Clam Fest!! More on that in the coming days...

My thoughts exactly! I understand that the managers wanted to avoid any undue injuries to players, but come on... if that was really the case, why play an All-Star game at all? Give me a break! All I know is that I could go from fan to non-fan in record time (don't forget to boycott tomorrow!). But until then, let me pretend I'm in the stands, with very big signs... SELIG MUST GO! CONTRACT THE YANKEES! NOMAR, TAKE YOUR SHIRT OFF! *grin*
