On a slightly less volatile subject: Last night, I saw The Lion King at Disney's New Amsterdam theatre in Time's Square. It was, probably, the BEST show I have EVER seen. It blew me away. I watched it open-mouthed and fascinated. It blew me away. I was so overcome by the first 5 minutes that I had to stop and take a few steadying breaths so I could watch the rest of it. Wow. Even the fact that the father and son sitting next to us carried on a show-long conversation, and the people in front of us kept turning around and shushing them didn't even phase me- I was so fascinated by what was happening on-stage. GO SEE IT!

It's about time! I have been unwilling to recite the Pledge since I was in 6th grade for this very reason. There is a reason for the separation of Church and State, and the fact that it really doesn't exist bothers the hell out of me. Get over yourselves, Congress, and look past your (seemingly) only raison d'etre (getting votes) and see this country for what it is! One nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice (and freedom of religion) for all... I say we go back to the pre-1954 Pledge!! Three cheers for the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco... you done good!

And, don't forget to vote! Unless you're a Yankees fan... then, by all means... you're getting sleepy, verrrry verrrrrry sleeeepy...

...AND Derek Lowe and the BoSox rock...no matter what... (though I was sorta cheering for the D'Backs because I have Curt Schilling on my fantasy b-ball team...and he kicks ass...and he's the reason I'm in first! But SHHHHHHHHH!)
