Here we are, settled in the middle of the week. A couple more days and it'll be Sunday. And just like the past 5 weeks or so, I am just wishing that Sunday would hurry up and get here. I can't stand all of the speculation, the media blitz, the daily updates from Houston, and everything else that gets crammed into the leadup to the game. I just want the game to start, so that my anxieties can be alleviated by the Pats first touchdown and eventual win. Woo. GO PATS!

It also made me laugh to hear GWB strike down the MA SJC's decision, saying that decisions should not be made by courts, but by people. I totally agree. Let's start by letting the people decide the winner of the 2000 presidential election. What's that? Oh, you mean people should only decide things for themselves when it doesn't affect you personally, Mr. President? Oh, ok. I understand...

These are your candidates right here, ladies and gentlemen... in my opinion. It's going to be fought out by these two, and John Edwards may possibly make it a threesome. Whatever happens, I just hope that one of them will beat GWB!

It must be nice to be President, and lie your way through the State of the Union address. The President is crackers, ladies and gentlemen. He expects us to swallow the bunch of bullcrap that he just ladled out to us. And what's more, as loud as I yell at the television, he just ignores me. When I try to tell him (nicely and politely, of course) that his education plan is crap- he just keeps talking. He doesn't care that it's a complete and utter lie. He just drones on and on about how setting higher standards is better for our children... he doesn't seem to care that setting these higher standards means actually improving our educational system. Or that high stakes testing methods are racially, culturally, and gender biased. He calls these standards "common sense", and yet, I bet he couldn't pass the high school MCAS. It does no good to just yell for higher standards, without improving how our kids learn and are taught. And funding, Mr. President? I believe you promised funding to make your high falutin standardized testing work. Maybe more funding will improve our educational system...

Well, my sister is off to Australia. She left at 6:30 this evening bound for LAX, where she'll have about an hour layover before catching her flight to Melbourne AU. Woo. She has been so excited to go, and who can blame her. I've just spent the last hour or so trying to figure out which flight she was on and when it arrives and where. I think I figured out enough to acutallu track it on one of those web sites that shows you a particular flight and where it is in the sky. I've always thought those sites were cool. So, she arrives in Melbourne tomorrow evening our time, which is Saturday morning her time. I forget exactly what the time difference is. It's a long flight. Something like 17 hours. I don't think I could do a flight that long. *shrug* But maybe if my destination was Australia. The sucky thing would be coming back! I had a hard enough time on the flight back from London two years ago, and that was only eight hours. Oh well...
Happy New Year!
