Losing to the Bills 31-0 in the first game of the season: Disappointing.
Piling on the injuries week after week: Frustrating.
Having a record of 14-2: Amazing.
Winning 12 straight games: Unbelievable.
Winning home field advantage throughout the playoffs: Ecstatic.
Beating the Bills 31-0 in the last game of the season: Priceless.
GO PATS!

Can I just ask the parties involved to hurry up and make a decision? This is starting to slowly kill me. The deal is on, it's off, oh, it's on again, now it's dead, no, wait it's back. And with Bud Selig's announcement (and Larry Lucchino's comments) today, it would seem to be once again dead. I would just like to know who my shortstop will be next year. At this point, I don't really care who it is, just as long as we have one who will be happy to be in Boston, and who will have a batting average of .300 or higher (preferably higher). The way it looks now, this deal has to happen. Speaking from right now, we cannot go into next season with bad feelings about the team. This clubhouse has to have the same 'Cowboy Up' spirit that it had during the playoffs, or no matter how many All-Star pitchers and second-basemen we get, it won't be enough to launch us into the playoffs, and potentially the World Series. Now, if the deal doesn't go through, and we re-sign Nomar (which is vital if the A-Rod thing fails), and we get to Spring Training, and then to April 8th, everything could be hunky-dory. All the bad feelings may have passed, with players deciding that playing is much more important than negotiations. If that's the case, and I turn out to be wrong... I will be happy to shout it from the rooftops. But, first we've got to end this wheeling and dealing. LIke I said... make a decision!

So, it may happen. The Big A-Rod for Manny deal. It could happen in the next 24-48 hours. Well, I know people are excited, but I will miss Nomar. It's tough to lose your favorite player. And yes, one of the reasons that he's my favorite player is because he's hot! :) Does that make me a bad person or, more importantly, any less of a baseball fan? Eh. The jury is still out on that one, folks...

Digging out from under almost 30 inches of snow here. It's so much fun. Wanted to welcome Wilson Scott Jablonski into the world. He was a little anxious to join his mommy and daddy, but doing well. Mom is also doing well. Welcome to the world and congrats to Maria and Scott!
