Still sick... in fact, I feel much worse than before. I watched Xena, DS9, The Breakfast Club, Philidelphia, and The Empire Strikes Back so far today... and I'm not done yet! Return... is next, followed by SNL probably. If I make it to 1:30-3:30am, I'll watch TNG and DS9, but I wouldn't count on it. I feel so awful...

I'm finished... as of right now I am officially resigning my position of 'do-gooder'...

Well, I've lost my voice... I've seen it coming for about a week or so, and I'm really surprised that it took this long. I thought I'd be on my way to recovery by now. I guess all the screaming and shouting for joy over last night's episode of Survivor did not do my voice any good... but it was truly worth it!! heh Now I just wait and see how long it takes to come back. And it doesn't help to have a job that requires answering a phone from time to time, but at least it's not my last job (Administrative Asst-- LOTS of phone answering!), I don't know what I would have done! Well, as much as I would like to crawl into a hole and sleep for years, I suppose I do have to get back to work... *cough cough, hack hack, sniff sniff*

from The Onion...
Giant Blood Clot Dislodges From Your Femoral Artery YOUR CIRCULATORY SYSTEM-- According to lower-extremity sources, a blood clot two to three times larger than necessary to cause a heart attack has broken loose from your femoral artery and is migrating up your leg at this very moment. "In light of the size of this clot," your doctor said, "calling 911 would only waste city resources." Your doctor recommended that you lie down near the front door so the coroner's office can more easily remove your body from your home.

Ok, it's time for my Oscar wrap-up... I cannot believe that Russell Crowe won Best Actor! He deserves that like he deserves a hole in the head (or a kidnapping plot!). And what is up with Gladiator winning Best Picture? It was good and all, but Best Picture? What is up with that? What a joke! And Julia, dahling, everyone else knew you would win, why didn't you? You could have at least prepared a speech! I hate those blubbering, ridiculous, endless speeches. And I still stand by my Best Director pick... no matter what the Academy thought. Ang Lee deserved it! Ok, by now you may be asking, 'Did she like anything about the show?'... Well, as a matter of fact, I did. Steve Martin was hysterical! I was in tears during the monologue. The first joke about Russell Crowe was priceless (especially when coupled with the look on his face!). And kudos to Tom Hanks for reminding me why I like him so much (when Steve Martin blamed him for the RC kidnapping plot!). And it was over before midnight. I don't remember that ever happening! Bob Dylan via satellite- and his speech when he won his Oscar! Danny Devito eating a carrot- and Steve Martin rushing out to give him some dip during the show! Ok, I could go on... but I will spare ya'll. All in all, it was a good show! This story explains it perfectly, in my opinion. I give the show itself an A... I give the winners a C+...

Yay!!! The Oscars are about to start! The only thing that makes me happier is that I finally bought Chicken Run! Woo hoo! I can't wait until Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon beats out Gladiator for Best Picture!! Ok, time to watch now! I hope Steve Martin will be good... he couldn't be worse than Jon Stewart at the Grammy's. heh Poor Jon Stewart. This will be the last time that the Oscars will be at the Shrine. How sad. Well, here we go...

It's official, Mir is dead. I must admit that I'm saddened by Mir's demise, although for absolutely no real reason. There was an time, awhile ago, when one of the space shuttles (Discovery, I believe) docked with Mir. The orbit path went right over my house, and my entire neighborhood gathered outside to watch it go over us that evening. I was the first to spot it as it flew overhead, and it looked just like a satellite, perhaps a little larger. It was very cool- something I will never forget. I know it sounds cheesy, but it was really fascinating to watch as a space shuttle, connected to a giant space station more than 135 miles above the Earth, flew over me. It made me feel very insignificant. So, although I have no real reason to mourn the loss of Mir, I do feel as though I was connected to it in some small way. Now, there is only International Space Station Alpha...

"Rain, rain, go away. Come again some other day!" (I know it's spring, and I know it's supposed to rain, but come on now! Let's get practical!)
I arrived at work exactly one half hour early today, as I had written it down wrong in my Dayminder. I guess I should be happy that it didn't happen the other way around, although it does bother me that I cheated myself out of 30 minutes of precious sleep. "And now for something completely different"- I am eating dried bananas right this minute, which is odd, because I detest bananas- dried or otherwise. Very odd. My body must be lacking potassium. "Yessss, it is, isn't it?"

Eureka! I can't believe it took me that long to figure it out. I suppose the computer geeks were somewhat correct in their assessment of me. But- I'm not ready to turn in my CyberWorld green card quite yet...
Merry Ostara to one and all!

*Warning: explicit generalization about to happen! You've been warned!* Why is it that computer geeks feel the need to be condescending? Is it written into their programming or what? And I know I am grouping them all together (you were warned!), and I do happen to know some computer geeks who are downright friendly... but REALLY! Is it absolutely necessary for those of us who are not permanent residents in CyberWorld to be made to feel as if we are three years old? And for no good reason? Ok, I think I'm done ranting...
2:41:00 PM
Well, I've begun. Who knows where this will lead... but at least it'll be a fun walk down the path!
